Data Sources

What database technologies are supported?

JackDB connects to many popular databases and cloud data platforms, including:

  • Amazon RDS
  • Amazon Redshift
  • Heroku Postgres
  • MySQL
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • Segment SQL
  • SQL Server
  • Teradata Aster

If your database is JDBC-compliant or works with SQL, it may still be possible to add it as a data source in JackDB.

It's simple to add a data source for the first time by providing your database credentials. This typically includes the server or hostname, port number, database user, and database password. We recommend creating a read-only user on your database for data sources that only require read access.

When a data source is added for the first time, JackDB attempts to make a successful connection to your database to make sure it's network accessible.
